We are a friendly & welcoming group meeting on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 10.30 at John Burrows. We aim to address as many of the group’s interests as possible.

In the past year we have had speakers from the fire & police services, talks from group members, visited Maldon & several garden centres, held an auction, made floral displays for Spring & Christmas. The latter was the last meeting of the year & each member received a small gift.

Our first meeting of the New Year is on the 21st January at 10.30 at John Burrows when we shall be holding an auction of unwanted Christmas gifts, the proceeds to go towards funding our future activities

We ask for a contribution of £3 per session for each session attended to cover costs of the hire of John Burrows & any transport required.

New members are welcome. Please contact Barbara Wright

Another excellent trip out for the Tuesday Club. We were taken to the Cathedral by mini bus & entertained on the way there by our friendly driver Trevor playing all the hits from the 50s & 60s. Interestingly we all knew the words!

As we didn’t have a guide at the Cathedral members were given a handout with the main information about it. On arrival all were free to wander at their leisure. The Cathedral dates back to 1223 & has a very  interesting history. In the 15th Century the church was rebuilt though, due to the War of the Roses, it took nearly a century to complete.

After visiting the Cathedral, members were free to explore the city which offers a variety of shops for those interested in some retail therapy & spacious parks for those who preferred to stroll in the beautiful sunshine which we were fortunate to have.

Another most enjoyable morning at John Burrows. We were shown how to put a flower arrangement together & given some very useful tips on how to get the most from flowers. Cutting the tips off gladioli to get all the lower flowers to open, putting wire through some roses & gerbera was just some of the useful information. At the end of the morning the two completed arrangements were raffled off & received by two delighted ladies.

Never had a group of ladies remained silent for so long!

There was also an opportunity for members to have their ICE numbers put on their phones. This is something we encourage all members to do.
